Huddle: Privacy

Huddle is a private calendar for one household. It is not offered to the public, and only the two people invited by name can sign in.

What it stores

  • The events you add: titles, times, places, notes, who they are for, reminders and details such as confirmation numbers.
  • The names and colors of the family members you tag on events.
  • For each person who signs in: the name and email Apple shares at sign-in, a sign-in session, and their notification settings.
  • A push token for each phone, so reminders can be delivered.
  • Web pages you ask it to watch, and a short record of emails forwarded to it (who sent it, when, and how many events were found; never the email itself).
  • Crash reports from the app, with emails and sign-in tokens removed.

    • Where it lives

    Everything is stored in our own Cloudflare account (Cloudflare Workers and D1). It is used only by this family, to run this calendar. It is never sold, shared or used for advertising.

    AI reading

    When you add something by voice, photo, pasted text, a forwarded email or a watched page, that text or image is sent to the Anthropic API so Claude can read the dates out of it. Anthropic processes it to answer that request and does not use it to train its models. Speech is turned into text on your iPhone when it can be; otherwise by Apple's speech service.

    Other services

  • **Apple**: Sign in with Apple, and Apple Push Notifications for reminders.
  • **Expo**: passes push notifications on to Apple. It sees the notification text, such as an event title and time.

    • What it does not do

    No ads. No tracking. No analytics. No selling or sharing data. No third party sign-ins other than Apple.

    Your data

    Either of us can delete any event at any time; it disappears from the calendar at once. To erase everything for good, the household's database in the Cloudflare account is deleted; nothing is kept anywhere else.
